Our purpose is to support the health and wellbeing of the Chinese speaking community in Bristol and across the south west of England, and their integration and inclusion in local communities. It is a voice for the community, raising awareness of its needs amongst other organisations in the region.
We achieve this through our aims:
To relieve sickness, hardship and distress by providing assistance, advice, representation and services amongst the Chinese community.
To provide or assist in the provision of facilities for recreation or other leisure time occupation for the Chinese community who have need of such facilities with a view to improving their conditions of life and integration into their local community.
The advancement of education between the Chinese community and the local community through educational, cultural and social activities.
We are able to provide a wide range of services for the Chinese speaking community. These include:
-Providing a care support service for the elderly, infirm and disabled
-Providing a casework service
-Counselling
-Translation and interpreting
-Help in fighting racial harassment and discrimination
-Making referrals for help and advice on legal and immigration issues
-Liaising on their behalf with statutory and voluntary agencies
-Running a drop-in day centre
-Helping to break down social isolation
-Providing information on education, employment and enterprise training
-Providing information and advice on health matters
-Providing help and advice on housing and benefits
-Fighting for the provision of housing schemes for the elderly
-Running English classes
-Providing information on crime prevention
-Providing training for employment
-Running cultural and social trips
