Chard WATCH reaches out and engages with isolated adults needing support. Anyone that joins the project can become a member and contribute to running the organisation democratically.
We give members an elevated sense of confidence and empowerment by enabling them to take their own positive steps. Change comes from within and we help people fulfil their potential through workshops and activities like: art, reading, drama, personal awareness courses, IT, and most importantly peer relationships.
Founded in 2010 by peer members, we have built the project around our lived experience to help reach out and engage with other isolated and lonely people in the community. Members say that WATCH improves their confidence, makes them feel empowered, has introduced them to new friends and enabled them to take their own positive steps.
The members consist of adults (18 upwards) and include people with mental health issues, recovering alcohol and substance users, ethnic minority groups, people with physical disabilities, the elderly, and the homeless, etc.
Adults (18 upwards) who feel socially isolated due to mental health issues, alcohol and substance misuse, ethnicity / age / disability etc
